Repost: They Don’t See

I was reading through some of my older posts and I came across this one. I forgot about it and I really like it. So I thought I would share it with you again.

The breeze blows by riding down the path
their lonely faces appear, some are filled with fear
all trying to avoid His wrath.

I keep riding, and just look away
their eyes give a stare, they think i’m unaware
and all i know to do is pray

They don’t see His Good
They don’t see He is forever
Blind to His faithfulness
Blind to His Love
They don’t see

I stear my bike to the side
they watch me go, they are asking if it’s no
I don’t know why I duck and hide

Why don’t they understand
how can i reach them all, but how can i let them fall
Why don’t they reach for His hand

They don’t see His Good
They don’t see He is forever
Blind to His faithfulness
Blind to His Love
They don’t see

The Lord is good,
His love endures forever
His faithfulness continues
They Don’t See

They don’t see His Good
They don’t see He is forever
Blind to His faithfulness
Blind to His Love
They don’t see

They don’t see His Good
They don’t see He is forever
Blind to His faithfulness
Blind to His Love
They don’t see

I pray louder, louder, louder
Lord let them see Your Good
Lord let them see You Forever
See His Faithfulness
See His Love
Lord let them See

Psalm 100:5
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

2 Years Ago… a Broken Ankle

This weekend is the 2nd anniversary of a major turning point in my life. It was a major turning point because it was the first of a sequence of events that just really threw me for a loop. It spun me off in directions I never thought I would have gone. Two years ago this weekend I broke my ankle playing a pick up game of baseball.

I never intended on playing that day but they were short players so I said why not. The game was fun even though we were losing. Then in the eighth inning I made the mistake of trying to slide, and here is the result of that.

Yep, I have lots of hardware in my ankle now. If you count that’s eight screws and a plate. My ankle is surrounded by scars. I ended up breaking just about anything you can break with the ankle. I ended up giving my Mom a wonderful gift that year. 10AM Mother’s Day I went into surgery to try and fix this mess of my ankle.
Many things happened after that from losing my job to breaking up with my girlfriend. My life was kind of like one of those sappy country songs. Luckily my dog didn’t die. Those events are actually what led me to start this blog. I hoped it would provide me an outlet to work through the rapid changes I was dealing with. These events are also how I ended up titling my blog. The title comes from the bible story of Jacob when he wrestles with God and receives the name of God Wrestler or Israel. You can read that passage in Genesis 32.
In the past two years I have definitely come through those trials I had to face. They have shaped me in ways I never expected to be. I am in a place now that I never thought I would end up, but its good. Life is good. God is good. God is sovereign.

Head, Shoes, Dog

I have a really bad headache right now and it just will not go away. I think its because I have worked so many days straight. Even though my job consists of me sitting here doing nothing its still very draining. Only two more nights and I will be done here at the Forest Park Suites.

I ordered new shoes. They are being delivered today. I am very excited because its been since October of 2007 that I got new shoes.

My dog, Marty, had a seizure last night and my Dad and I got really freaked out. Marty is our long haired chihuahua and he’s not the brightest dog but hes the cutest lil thing ever. He is so sweet and loving. I just love it when he lays in my lap and that he tries to play with the big dogs. We tried to take him to our animal clinic which is supposed to be a 24 hour place. When we got there around 10pm there was no one there and Marty was still breathing really hard and shaking really bad. I guess they aren’t 24 hour when the next day is Easter. By the time we got back home Marty was doing better but we’re still worried bout him. The interweb says that chihuahua’s are prone to seizures. So I guess I have an epileptic dog.

Here’s Marty McFly chillaxin with my Dad.

Sorry if i have some bad grammar here, my head really hurts right now.

Lark Ascending

Lark Ascending
by: George Meredith

He rises and begins to round,
He drops the silver chain of sound,
Of many links without a break,
In chirrup, whistle, slur and shake,
All intervolved and spreading wide,
Like water-dimples down a tide
Where ripple ripple overcurls
And eddy into eddy whirls;
A press of hurried notes that run
So fleet they scarce are more than one,
Yet changeingly the trills repeat
And linger ringing while they fleet,
Sweet to the quick o’ the ear, and dear
To her beyond the handmaid ear,
Who sits beside our inner springs,
Too often dry for this he brings,
Which seems the very jet of earth
At sight of sun, her music’s mirth,
As up he wings the spiral stair,
A song of light, and pierces air
With fountain ardour, fountain play,
To reach the shining tops of day,
And drink in everything discerned
An ecstasy to music turned,
Impelled by what his happy bill
Disperses; drinking, showering still,
Unthinking save that he may give
His voice the outlet, there to live
Renewed in endless notes of glee,
So thirsty of his voice is he,
For all to hear and all to know
That he is joy, awake, aglow;
The tumult of the heart to hear
Through pureness filtered crystal-clear,
And know the pleasure sprinkled bright
By simple singing of delight;
Shrill, irreflective, unrestrained,
Rapt, ringing, on the jet sustained
Without a break, without a fall,
Sweet-silvery, sheer lyrical,
Perennial, quavering up the chord
Like myriad dews of sunny sward
That trembling into fulness shine,
And sparkle dropping argentine;
Such wooing as the ear receives
From zephyr caught in choric leaves
Of aspens when their chattering net
Is flushed to white with shivers wet;
And such the water-spirit’s chime
On mountain heights in morning’s prime,
Too freshly sweet to seem excess,
Too animate to need a stress;
But wider over many heads
The starry voice ascending spreads,
Awakening, as it waxes thin,
The best in us to him akin;
And every face to watch him raised,
Puts on the light of children praised;
So rich our human pleasure ripes
When sweetness on sincereness pipes,
Though nought be promised from the seas,
But only a soft-ruffling breeze
Sweep glittering on a still content,
Serenity in ravishment
For singing till his heaven fills,
‘Tis love of earth that he instils,
And ever winging up and up,
Our valley is his golden cup,
And he the wine which overflows
To lift us with him as he goes:
The woods and brooks, the sheep and kine,
He is, the hills, the human line,
The meadows green, the fallows brown,
The dreams of labour in the town;
He sings the sap, the quickened veins;
The wedding song of sun and rains
He is, the dance of children, thanks
Of sowers, shout of primrose-banks,
And eye of violets while they breathe;
All these the circling song will wreathe,
And you shall hear the herb and tree,
The better heart of men shall see,
Shall feel celestially, as long
As you crave nothing save the song.
Was never voice of ours could say
Our inmost in the sweetest way,
Like yonder voice aloft, and link
All hearers in the song they drink.
Our wisdom speaks from failing blood,
Our passion is too full in flood,
We want the key of his wild note
Of truthful in a tuneful throat;
The song seraphically free
Of taint of personality,
So pure that it salutes the suns
The voice of one for millions,
In whom the millions rejoice
For giving their one spirit voice.
Yet men have we, whom we revere,
Now names, and men still housing here,
Whose lives, by many a battle-dint
Defaced, and grinding wheels on flint,
Yield substance, though they sing not, sweet
For song our highest heaven to greet:
Whom heavenly singing gives us new,
Enspheres them brilliant in our blue,
From firmest base to farthest leap,
Because their love of Earth is deep,
And they are warriors in accord
With life to serve, and, pass reward,
So touching purest and so heard
In the brain’s reflex of yon bird:
Wherefore their soul in me, or mine,
Through self-forgetfulness divine,
In them, that song aloft maintains,
To fill the sky and thrill the plains
With showerings drawn from human stores,
As he to silence nearer soars,
Extends the world at wings and dome,
More spacious making more our home,
Till lost on his aerial rings
In light, and then the fancy sings.

New Music in my Head

So lately i’ve been on a kick to find new music. Pandora.com and the new genius feature on iTunes have helped alot to find and listen to new bands that are in the indie category. Here are a few bands that i’ve really been into lately.
I have also renewed my interest in Ben Folds. I am just drawn to his music now way more that I ever was before. I also really like The Fray’s new album. I know some of you don’t like The Fray but i dig them a lot.  Death Cab has also really caught my attention these days. A few years ago I wrote them off. I don’t know that was also back when I thought Apple was Satan. I have really grown up in the last few years.
In other exciting news about my music interest, David Crowder Band is working on their next album. Hopefully it will be released later this year. Once that album is released that is all I will be listening too for quite awhile. I’m a Crowder head, what can I say. They make really good music.

What are some bands that you have discovered lately or are your favorites? Leave a comment and share with me.

Introducing…

Well I finally decided to make the blog official. I guess that is what you can call this, but really all I did was purchase a real domain name for my blog. Now you can go to godwrestler.org and get to the blog. No more -’s or .blogspots needed. However if you do go to god-wrestler.blogspot.com you still will get here. I am excited because this will help make it quick and easy to get to the blog and I feel like I really own the blog now.

So I am officially introducing …

Nerf, Where was this when i was young?

My cousins got some sweet Christmas gifts this year. Something that I always dreamed of when I was little. I remember watching Commando starring The Arnold. He was an ex commando trying to save his daughter and took out hundreds of men carrying this chain gun around. I would act out the scenes with my Nerf guns always wishing I could really do the chain gun thing. Well now my cousins can live my glory out if the so choose too.

Nerf always amazes me. Every year they get better and better. This gun comes with a reloadable chain that holds 75 Nerf darts and you can buy extra chains. The chain is stored in that side box and exits out the other side like a real gun.

This video here shows some guys who modified the gun to shoot the equivilant to 50 rounds a sec. Crazy Awesome!

Go on and buy one or two… you know you want it… think about playing Nerf Wars with this on your side. :)

Sing it Frank

I was watching TV last night and the show I was watching closed with this song. “Someone to Watch Over Me” done by Frank Sinatra. Now I have heard this song so many times for some reason this time I actually got the lyrics to it. I just loved it.

There’s a saying old says that love is blind
Still we’re often told “seek and ye shall find”
So I’m going to seek a certain girl I’ve had in mind
Looking everywhere, haven’t found her yet
She’s the big affair I cannot forget
Only girl I ever think I will regret

I’d like to add her initials to my monogram
Tell me where’s the shepherd for this lost lamb

There’s a somebody I’m longing to see
I hope that she turns out to be
Someone to watch over me

I’m a little lamb who’s lost in a wood
I know I could always be good
To one who’ll watch over me

Although I may not be the man some girls think of
As handsome

to my heart She carries the key

Won’t you tell her please to put on some speed
Follow my lead, oh how I need
Someone to watch over me
Someone to watch over me
